Italian Language Course C1.1 Advanced

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Our school offers both group and private classes of Italian.
Each group class includes 4-8 students and will commence with a minimum of 4 students. Courses are offered on a modular basis (from module 1 to module 2) and each module follows the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2). Each teaching class lasts 2 hours, for a total of 12 classes (24 hours) per module. The C1 book will be issued on the first day of lesson and will be used for both modules.
1:1 private classes are offered both inside and outside the school, varying from a 10-hour package (once per week) to a 20-hour package (twice per week). They are customized according to the student’s needs and each package can be repurchased.
At the end of their two C1 modules, our students reach the “effective level” in Italian (advanced level: C1) and are able to understand a wide variety of complex and long text while getting also to their hidden message. They can express themselves in a fluent and spontaneous way without a huge effort in reaching the right word. They can talk about everything, from the familiar to the professional and academic fields by producing clear and well-structured messages and texts.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE
Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance (9 lessons out of 12) to be eligible for a Certificate of Attendance awarded by the Singapore Italian School.
CERTIFICATION
By reaching the C1 level, the student has an advanced knowledge of the Italian language and is able to test their Italian language knowledge through the language exam CILS level C1. The CILS certification is a qualification issued by the university which declares the level of linguistic and communicative competences in Italian as a foreign language.
Our students can take this exam at the end of their C1.2 module, once they have completed both C1 modules. At the end of each module (C1.1, C1.2) they will be tested with a 50-minutes exam based on the topics learned in the module, which however does not function as a language certificate.
The CELI 4 (C1 level exam) is divided into 5 parts which will test the student’s written comprehension (part 1), their written production (parts 2), their linguistic competence (part 3), their oral comprehension (part 4) and oral production (part 5). To complete part 1 and part 2 you will be given 2 hours and 45 minutes followed by a 10-minute break; part 3 will take 1 hour and 15 minutes, while part 4 and 5 will take 25 and 20 minutes respectively.
